Presnted as another classic black and white film, The Philadelphia Story was created and released on December 26, 1940. Director George Cukor and writter Donald Ogden Stewart team up to produce this extravagant film. This comedy, romance film stars Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, James Stewart, Ruth Hussey, and John Howard as the main characters. The Philadelphia Story won two Oscars while being nominated for many others.
How does a girl decide between her past, present, and new love? When they all hit her at once? Well Tracy Lord, played by Katharine Hepburn, becomes hit with all three of her lovers, Cary Grant, who plays her playboy ex-husband or C.K. Dexter Haven, James Stewart, who plays the reporter or Macaulay Connor, and John Howard, who plays the husband to be or George Kittredge. Through out the whole movie Tracy is being pulled every which way by the loves of her life. Who wins? Who live happily ever after? Watch to find out!
I enjoyed this move because it was interesting to see how Tracy dealt with her struggle over her 3 men. The chemistry between Katharine and Cary was very well portrayed and understood. I loved where the movie took place. I give this movie an A!
