Released January 29, 1964, Dr. Stranglove graced the world with its presents. Surprisingly nominiated for a couple Oscars, Dr. Stranglove recieved one for best picture? For real? It's definitely a drifferent movie but best pisture?! Oh well...anyways this film was directed by Stanley Kubrick and written by Peter George. It was made during the Cold war, which was a battle between USSR and America.
The best actor, Peter Sellers played a man who went mad that is to concerned with people's "bodily functions," Jack Ripper, a general. He orders his fighters to bomb Russia because they were going to bomb the U.S. The President calls a meeting with the Soviet ambassador. They find out that Russia was hit with the "Doomsday Machine," which can destroy the world. Jack Ripper, the insane man is the only one who knows the code to stop the attack. Does he stop it?! Top Gun
What movie screamed propaganda for the airforce in the 80s? The amazing movie classic Top Gun! From the awesome scenes of advanced, for the 80s, aircrafts and the heart throb Tom Crusie (in his younger days before he started jumping on Opera's couches), no one can go wrong with Top Gun. This movie won 9 Oscars and 5 nominations. The director Tony Scott and writer Ehud Yonay did a remarkable job in conveying the life of a top fighter pilot.
The movie begins with epic scenes of fighter pilots followed by Maverick (Tom Cruise) and his co-pilot/ bestfriend Goose (Anthony Edwards) winning a dog fight. Maverick makes a "fly by" which causes him and Goose to be in a ton of trouble. Even though they tend to be trouble makers, they are extremely talented fighter pilots that get to go to Top Gun, who also can definitely sing...especially the song "You've Lost that Lovin Feeling." Miss. Charlie (Kelly McGills), a teacher at Top Gun and Maverick's soon to be lover, gets to expierence this first hand. The macho pair meet their rivals Iceman (Val Kilmer) and Wolfman (Barry Tub) who push their bottons. Unfortunately, Maverick and Iceman learn to respect eachother after a tragic event takes place. Maverick ends up flying solo with his father and bestfriend watching over him and Charlie by his side.
I would recommend Top Gun to anyone. This is a classic that would deprive a child if they do not see it in their life time. From the amazing filming, interesting characters, awesome dog fighting, and famous stars this movie gets a solid A++ in my book. I have personally seen this movie 20 times in my lifetime. I love it! :)

High Society
High Society was released July 17, 1956. Major stars, such as C. K. Dexter Haven, Tracy Lord, Mike Connor, George Kittredge, and last but not least Uncle Willie., made this classic film come alive. This comedy, romance, musical was nominated for two oscars.
This movie was very interesting but lacked individuality. It is extremely similar to Philidelphia Story. Except that High Society consisted of color and music. High Society seemed more funny than serious, like the Philidelphia Story. The plot lines are alomost identical. Except Philidelphia Story was just plain black and white as well as more developed characters which made it less interesting as High Society. High Society seemed alot more happy and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

The Philadelphia Story won two Oscars while being nominated for many others.

Well Tracy Lord, played by Katharine Hepburn, becomes hit with all three of her lovers, Cary Grant, who plays her playboy ex-husband or C.K. Dexter Haven, James Stewart, who plays the reporter or Macaulay Connor, and John Howard, who plays the husband to be or George Kittredge. Through out the whole movie Tracy is being pulled every which way by the loves of her life. Who wins? Who live happily ever after? Watch to find out!
I enjoyed this move because it was interesting to see how Tracy dealt with her struggle over her 3 men. The chemistry between Katharine and Cary was very well portrayed and understood. I loved where the movie took place. I give this movie an A!

Rebecca
Rebecca. Rebecca. Rebecca. Rebecca. Rebecca. Rebecca! These name "Rebecca" causes the second Mrs. de Winter heartache and more reason for insecurites. A women, who just married a man and the man and people in the household talked about his ex wife constantly, has the right to be alittle upset.....Don't you think? The main characters of the classic story Rebecca are Laurence Oliver, who plays Maxim' de Winter, The Second Mrs. de Winter, played by Joan Fontaine, George Sanders stars as Jack Favell, and Judith Anderson as Mrs. Danvers. Alfred Hitchcook, the producer, realeased his masterpiece on April 12, 1940. Rebecca was nominated for 9 Oscars and won 2.

The Maltese Falcon
Realeased on October 18, 1941, The Maltess Falcon is one of the most baffling murder stories. This example of a film noir was produced and written by John Huddson, main producer, and Dashiell Hammett. Filled with many same aspects of Double Indemnity, The Maltese Falcon was nominated for 3 Oscars and won 1. Spade and Archer is the name of the detective agency were the story begins. But once Miss Wanderly walks into the picture, the whole place changes.
At the detective agency Spade and Archer, Sam Spade, played by Humphrey Bogart, and Miles Archer, played by Jerome Cowan, are partners, of course. Their whole world begins to change the second Miss. Wanderly, played by Mary Astor, steps through the door. She claims to be looking for a man named Thursby, but really needs Spade for other reasons. Miles and Thursby are proclaimed dead. Miss. Wanderly finally admits why she needs Sam. She needs him for protection and the precious Maltese Falcon, which is being hunted for by men that very minute. The Maltese Falcon is a bird with a viberant, royal jewel inside it. Sam Spade decides to help Miss. Wanderly while he is being blamed for the two murders. Both Miss. Wanderly and Spade recover a fake Maltese Falcon leading the dangerous men to find the real one. The two became romantically involved through all the drama, but once Sam finds out Miss. Wanderly is the reason Miles is dead, he turns her in because a man never leaves or decieves his partner.
The Maltese Falcon is romance, murder, and intrige. Any audience would enjoy this captovating murder mystery. The producer and writer of Double Indemnity, Billy Wilder and James M. Cain, definitely accomplishes this. The main plot is about a innocent insurance aggent who convinces himslf to be sucked into murder and insurance fraud. He becomes consumed with guilt after helping the seductive femme fatale kill her husband. This epic story recieved one Oscar and seven nominations.

He becomes extremely attracted to a client's sexy wife, Phyllis Dietrichson who is played by Barabara Stanwyck. The two soon to be lovers commit a murder, Phyllis's husband, and frame it as if he simply fell of a train or commited suicide. However, a cunning insurance investigator, Neff's close friend, senses something going on. Walter becomes anxious and consumed with guilt of this nasty murder but is kept in the hot water by Phyllis's seductive ways. The end leaves the auddience in a confussion of feelings after all the flashbacks makes sense.
